I love the more melodic side of BAN (like everyone else) but I haven’t always liked the production on the Bizarro world stuff. This album has suitably heavy and full production to accompany its nightmarish visions.

This has got to be one of the best crafted and thought out black metal records in recent memory. It's the equivalent of staring right into the void and being sucked into it. From the distant yet oppressive cold atmospheres, to the anguished vocals, clever arrangements and a splendid drum performance, Guðveiki completely succeeds in trapping you in its sound world. It's an impressive achievement.
